Many construction activities are just wrapping up to complete phase one of the demolition process:

- Installation of structural modifications
- Installation of the telecommunications duct bank
- Bulk excavation with debris being sorted and disposed of according to LEED requirements
- Installation of sheeting and shoring for the protection of surrounding areas and to support the perimeter of the excavation site
- For the duration of this construction project, the pathway along Pine Street will be located along the old Dental School building (Hayden Harris Hall). It will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.and will be illuminated with site lighting.
- The Pharmacy Hall lounge, kitchenette, and canteen/copy area will remain available to students this semester.
- Installation of Chilled Water lines
- Installation of Ice Storage lines
- Materials & Resources Credit: Construction Waste Management
- Our goal is to divert 50-75 percent of the non-hazardous construction, demolition, and land-clearing debris from disposal in landfills and incinerators, to redirect the recyclable recovered resources back to the manufacturing process, and redirect reusable materials to appropriate sites.
- Recycled materials include concrete, plastic, brick, metal, acoustical tile, glass, carpet, insulation, and gypsum wallboard.
- It is not possible to reuse a significant amount of debris for the new construction. However, many of Pharmacy Hall's original bricks can be used to restore that side of the lounge when the atrium is built.
