The external elevator/constuction hoist was removed between April 19 and April 22. Whiting and Turner is now using the inside elevator to allow for completion of the final curtain wall/window elevation that will be installed at the former location of the construction hoist. Removal of the external construction hoist also permits the interior completion of the break rooms which are situated in the southeast corner of the Addition.
The work being performed on the existing building is replacement of the precast concrete panels. These new panels match the color and texture of the precast concrete panels of the Addition. Also, landscaping work is being conducted along the MLK side of both buildings. Current work in this regard is the grading of the dirt sub-grade for the new sidewalks, as well as the removal of the earthwork spoils that are in the location of what will be the new planting bed/landscape area.
